In one of the surprise announcements at Spike TV's 2010 Video Game Awards, Bethesda's Todd Howard revealed the return of The Elder Scrolls RPG franchise with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Little is known about the title, other than it's likely a direct sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but the teaser trailer does clarify one thing: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will release on 11 November 2011.

Update: Bethesda community manager, Nick Breckon, has confirmed that new Elder Scrolls game is running an "all-new" game engine, "and it looks fantastic".
